Stuttgart-based musician and producer Dews Pegahorn will perform at Café V lese on 11 April 2026. The artist, who gained attention on the European alternative scene with hits such as Runnin' or Sweet Cherry Lipgloss, will bring his unique discography full of emotions, guitars and melancholy to Prague.
Dews Pegahorn is a Stuttgart-based singer, producer and multi-instrumentalist whose distinctive style ranges between alternative pop, electronica and melancholic indie rock. The artist with Madagascan-Angolan roots grew up in a musical environment and as a child spent six years at a music boarding school in Rottenburg, where he honed his singing and music theory skills. He began his career in the hip-hop milieu, inspired by artists such as The Notorious B.I.G., Ludacris and DMX, but gradually found his own path - combining an alternative sound with emotionally attuned lyrics. His work thus crosses all genre boundaries.
Pegahorn's music is built on contrasts - combining fast rhythms and dance grooves with melancholic melodies and lyrics that often explore inner tension, loss and personal growth. The artist himself describes his style as "danceable manic depression", and perhaps there is no better way to describe his ability to combine emotional depth with danceable energy. On streaming platform Spotify, his most successful tracks include Runnin', Sweet Cherry Lipgloss, Flirt With A Gun, Walk Alone and Heartcore, which have collectively racked up millions of plays. It was Runnin' that became a breakthrough moment for Pegahorn and confirmed his growing position on the European alternative scene.
This September, he released an ambitious EP entitled "Tonywithoutaband", which marks the next step in his musical development. The album develops his signature sound, combining melancholic guitars, layered vocals and electronic elements, while staying true to themes of introspection, love and mental balance. In doing so, Dews Pegahorn confirms that even the dark side of music can have a danceable rhythm, and that honesty and pain can make for a unique artistic language - music that is both vulnerable and powerful.
