Baroque pop, indie rock, lots of provocation and explicit lyrics. The Hidden Cameras, fronted by Joel Gibb, burst onto the music scene in 2001 - and have maintained their position as one of the most distinctive queer music projects of our time ever since. They self-describe their music as "gay church folk music" and perform in churches, galleries and cinemas. But their concerts are not just about catchy tunes and honest lyrics. In the past, their live performances have been accompanied by hooded dancers, a choir and a string quartet.
This time, however, Berlin-based Canadian singer Joe Gibb is going for a completely different tour format than fans have been used to so far. His intimate performance will offer a cross-section of The Hidden Cameras discography. From punchy rock ballads to folk pop songs, the multi-instrumentalist will let fans take a deeper look into the heart of his artistic soul. But whether it's his debut album Ecce Homo or his latest single How Do You Love?, which features contributions from the legendary Pet Shop Boys, Joel Gibb promises that the intimate renditions of the songs will be an experience not to be missed.
In addition, he will arrive in Prague with his forthcoming album BRONTO, which will be released on 12 September 2025. The long-awaited album will not only be his first album in nine years, but above all a reflection of Gibb's life in Berlin and Munich. The ten euphoric, bold and unbridled songs were recorded over the past few years with Nicolas Sierig, and will touch on the genres of house, electro-pop and techno. Don't miss The Hidden Cameras' unconventional concert.
