A raw sound, emotional lyrics and accolades from Pitchfork magazine. This is DEHD, an American indie-rock band that is definitely not afraid to experiment with a wide range of genres. They will bring their intense show to Prague's Café V lese on June 3, 2025. Tickets are on sale from 6 December 10:00 a.m. at GoOut.net.

DEHD burst onto the music scene in 2015. The trio consisting of Emily Kempf (vocals, bass), Jason Balla (vocals, guitar) and Eric McGrady (drums) gained a decent fan base almost immediately. The proof is their eponymous debut album DEHD (2016), which combines unadulterated raw surf-rock, indie-rock and rock with soft, emotive melodies and lyrics full of honesty. And emotion is definitely not something this Chicago-based crew is afraid of in their lyrics. They capture optimism, freedom, but also the pitfalls that life unexpectedly brings, as seen on 2022's Blue Skies.

However, the album Flower of Devotion (2020) was especially successful, and Pitchfork magazine named it one of the best indie albums of the moment. Songs like Bad Love and Loner found a well-deserved place in the cult indie playlists on various streaming platforms. Their work is proof that rawness and honesty play just as important a role in music as sophisticated production.

In addition to a thrilling show, DEHD will also bring this year's album Poetry to Café V lese. It brings a more ambitious, complex approach to the indie-rock genre, and far exceeds the already high energy fans are used to from the band. In fact, it's reminiscent of sunny summer days spent at the beach with friends. Emily Kempf's powerful vocals combined with guitar artistry, which Pitchfork magazine highlighted in their review, offers an unmissable look at the current indie-rock guitar scene that you definitely shouldn't miss.
